The official training center for the historic 2004 US Women's Olympiad Silver Medalist Team
New York City has a long and illustrious chess history, but you wouldn't know it from the current state of the game in the Big Apple. There are few places to play serious chess or receive formal instruction, particularly outside of Manhattan. A big step to change that was taken with the opening of the Polgar Chess Center back in 1997. Susan Polgar is enthusiastic about providing many kids and adults with instruction and a place to play. The October Polgar Scholastic Championship took place on October 30th, 2007.
The Winner of this event was Dennis Ramish Moore. Runner-up was Mikhail Mordukhay and third place went to William Arluck. Many special prizes were given out to those who participated and attended! Results will be posted as soon as possible at the Unites States Chess Federation here

The Polgar Chess Center offers weekly lectures and classes to Members young and old. FREE weekly class admissions to Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Members! Many special tournaments are scheduled throughout the year and weekly at the Polgar Chess Center. Special tournaments and championships take place for children as young as kindergarten level to adult tournaments. Special prizes are awarded to the winners! To view the calendar of events Click Here.
