In 2006 the Annual Susan Polgar World Open Chess Championship for Girls under 21, was a new addition to the list of sponsored events put on by the Susan Polgar Foundation. It was held for the first time exclusively in conjunction with the Las Vegas International Chess festival. In 2007 there will be an Open Section (for all ages), beside the under 15, under 13, and under 10 section that divides the competition into appropriate categories. There will be also three other special events. They are The SP World Open Chess Puzzle Solving Contest, The SP World Open Blitz Chess Championship , and the newest addition: The SP World Chess Challenge for Boys in 4 sections.
